Puerto Rico será sede de congreso de arqueología del Caribe

San Juan, 21 jun (PL) Arqueólogos de las Antillas y la cuenca del Caribe, Estados Unidos y Europa se reunirán en Puerto Rico en la celebración del XV congreso de la Asociación Internacional de Arqueología del Caribe, se anunció hoy aquí.

El encuentro internacional se realizará del 15 al 20 de julio en el teatro Alejandro Tapia y Rivera en el Viejo San Juan y estará dedicado al arqueólogo dominicano Luis A. Chanlatte Baik, quien radica en Puerto Rico desde 1965.

Las ponencias en el congreso estarán dominadas por los más recientes descubrimientos y logros de la arqueología regional.

Auspician el evento el Centro de Estudios Avanzados de Puerto Rico y el Caribe, el Instituto de Cultura Puertorriqueña, el Consejo de Arqueología Terrestre, el Municipio de San Juan, la Universidad de Puerto Rico, la Fundación Cultural Educativa y la Universidad del Turabo.
